Philadelphia.

I am a Philadelphia sports fan. Have been since birth. The first outfit I owned was a Phillies uniform and I have not looked back since that moment. Between summers in Philadelphia with all the family and my father's intense love for the teams that he grew up watching in person, I have been groomed into the typical Philly fan...

1. I boo the players on my team much more than those on the opposing teams.
2. I could care less about the 76ers.
3. I own far too many jerseys of traded players.
  i.e. Ricky Waters/Eric Lindros/Scott Rolen/Jevon Kearse
4. I am watching a Flyers game right now.
5. I hate the Cowboys with all of my heart, soul and mind.

Since 1982, I have seen the Phillies lose in the World Series to one of the most historic home runs in postseason history. I have seen the Flyers get swept in the Stanley Cup Finals by the Redwings. And I have witnessed the Eagles losing by 3pts to the Patriots in the Super Bowl due to a quarterback with no sense of urgency.

Prior to the 2008 baseball season, I made a wager with two co-workers. I boasted that the Phillies would go further than their teams would in 2008 (Cubs & Diamondbacks) and they gladly accepted the bet. The two losers had to buy the winner any jersey of his choice at the conclusion of the season. Needless to say, there was a lot of smack talk flying around the office this year, mostly from the Cubs' corner. I guess it was a good year to make this bet. Between the economy folding, presidential candidates mudslinging, and the King of the Hill cancellation on FOX; I will have the Phillies 2008 World Championship to remember above all else this year. Thanks Phils.
